On the river Elbe there is a wonderful city of arts of international importance.
Dresden. We are in East Germany in the land of Saxony
During World war ll Dresden has been the center of violent bombings where the victims were more than 20000, many are in fact the monuments dedicated to the victims
Uncountable is what we can visit from the museums that house and preserve some of the most beautiful Italian artistic heritage (works of Antonello da Messina, of Raffaello, the Venus of Giorgione, Tiziano, Veronesi and others), one of the most important opera theater of the world the ” Semperoper”,the wonderful “Zwinger Park”, the Bruhlsche Terrasse from which the view of the Elbe takes your breath away and finally the Catholic Cathedral “Hofkirche” of priceless beauty.
The city is divided in Altstadt (old town) and Neustadt (new town).
In the Altstadt ,on the left bank of the Elbe, we find famous buildings and other tourist attractions that can easily be reached by foot or by the various tramways that conned the city.
In the Neustadt we can see admirably held buildings of the Baroque era ,thanks to various renovations, which alternate with the most modern part of the city.
The Äußere Neustadt is the “IN” district of the city, here you will find many elegant shops, delicatessen that satisfy all the needs, taverns, restaurants, bar and discotheques.
